Where it all started

Hi, I’m Shehara — a Melbourne mum and the founder of PlayPass. This little guy is Rylen, my now 3-year-old son and unofficial co-founder of PlayPass.

When he was a baby, I found it surprisingly hard to discover simple, enriching things we could do together. I often felt a sense of unease if I didn’t have anything planned on our days together, not knowing how we’d fill the time. We’d end up at the shops for the third time that week, just to get out of the house.

Why I’m creating PlayPass

To be honest, I’m a bit of a lazy parent. I love when someone else tells me a story (storytime at the library is my happy parent place) and I think it’s wonderful that there are so many incredible small businesses with expertise in music, art, dance, gymnastics and more. They understand the developmental benefits, so I don’t need to learn it all myself — I can just sit back and let the experts lead.

That’s why I’m creating PlayPass: to make these early days easier. It’s a place for parents to find fun, age-appropriate things to do with their little ones — like drop-in classes, special events, storytimes and playgroups — all in one spot, without long-term commitments or endless scrolling.

Built with you, for you

Right now, PlayPass is in its early stages. I’m testing the idea and growing it step by step with feedback from local families. If you’ve found your way here early, thank you. Your support and feedback truly help me build something for all of us.

If this sounds like something you’ve been looking for too, I’d love for you to be part of it. Signing up doesn’t just keep you in the loop - it also helps me show there’s real demand for PlayPass and move it forward. Your support genuinely makes a difference.
